Senior Research Engineer

Dr. Sabet Seraj is a Senior Research Engineer at Supercritical, specializing in CFD-based and aerodynamic shape optimization. He has developed cutting-edge techniques for supersonic aircraft design and wind turbine aerodynamics, demonstrating his ability to tackle complex challenges across industries.
Dr. Seraj received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, where he was advised by Prof. Martins. His NASA-funded PhD work focused on CFD-based aerodynamic shape optimization methods for supersonic aircraft considering low-speed stability with movable surfaces.
Before his PhD, Dr. Seraj earned his Bachelor's from the elite Applied Science in Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. After his PhD, he furthered his expertise as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he made significant contributions to wind turbine aerodynamics.
