Dr. Timothy Brooks Profile Photo

Dr. Timothy Brooks is a Senior Research Engineer at Supercritical, specializing in aerostructural optimization, composite structures, and high-fidelity multidisciplinary design.

Dr. Brooks received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, where he was advised by Prof. Martins. His PhD work focused on the design optimization of tow-steered composite wings, achieving significant weight reductions and demonstrating the potential of advanced composite structures.

Before his PhD, Dr. Brooks earned his M.S.E. and B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, graduating summa cum laude. He also gained valuable industry experience at Boeing, Aurora Flight Sciences, and NASA. During his career, Dr. Brooks played a key role in developing the aerostructural version of NASA's Common Research Model (uCRM) wing, including a high aspect ratio variant featuring tow-steered composites, which was successfully tested at NASA.

At Supercritical, Dr. Brooks leverages his expertise in structures, composite materials, and industry-standard tools like NASTRAN to deliver cutting-edge aerostructural optimization solutions for clients.
